After an unfortunately busy week, I found the day to knee a knee and recharge. I took that moment today to stop all that I am doing–and play Call of Duty and read comic books. I find it important to get away once and awhile–away from the craziness of life and stop. Sometimes even the lion needs to take a break.
As I have grown older, I have found that I need this space to get away and be quiet without the demands of the world. I wish I had learned the discipline sooner, but I need it to recharge and to build back up. It is a critical time, especially when I expect to have an equally busy week before me. I enjoy getting away for a moment to play a game that is simply for fun and to slip into a world of Superheroes where good always prevails and anything can happen. It is why I love video games and comic books—they take me away even for a moment.
Days like today should not be an obligation–it should be fun. Sometimes it feels like everything in the world is screaming at you not to stop. But we sometimes must force ourselves away from all that is going on around us and take a knee.
And play a game;
And read a book.
And rest.
And reflect.
And recharge.
Ready to go again tomorrow.
