Often in the military, we are given a four-day weekend. By regulation, it cannot ever be five or else you will be charged leave. But, four-day weekends are nice. They make up for the days, months, and sometimes years away from home or the late nights, early mornings, and weekends lost. They are a predictable way to unwind and relax.
Relaxing is exactly what our family has in store for this weekend. We have no plans to go anywhere. I will try to run, if it is not raining too hard. I will also get out and walk my 10,000 steps—if possible. I will use the days to read books and comic books. I plan to sort and build at least one Pokémon TCG deck and enjoy some of the new cards I received on Christmas. We have a slow weekend to look forward to.
There is so much to do on a four-day weekend, so it is important to put the best things first. It is important to prioritize slow and quiet—to recharge and not to drain the batteries. For four quiet days there is a little time to do as little as possible.
