I watched the new DC Universe movie “Justice League: The New Frontier.” I wasn’t that impressed.
I enjoyed some of the origin stories of the lesser main-stream characters–but, that is about it. I truly almost fell asleep. This is a disappointment, because I have waited to see it for a month.
So, what problems did I have with the movie.
First, I thought this movie was slow. The story took too long to develop. And then you throw in my second reason, below, and the slowness made the story boring and confusing.
Second, I thought that it was disconnected. I’m not a rocket scientist, but I do read a lot of comic books, but I didn’t get it. I never understood the villain, except that it resembled War of the Worlds but, with dinosaurs. What is “The Center” anyway? Then, there were about three (Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, and The Flash) focus stories–that intertwined very awkwardly. Too much was going on. Maybe they were trying to get everything that was in the book–it didn’t work.
Third, what was this about Superman? Come on! Superman is the leader of the Justice League. This goes back to the “if it hurt Superman–the villain must be bad” theory. It doesn’t work. I wanted to see more of, not just Superman–but the big three. The are the JLA after all. That was broke.
The more I think about it…this movie wasn’t very good.
What a disappointment.
