Now that the 2013 Baseball Season is over, I still am able to use this off season to go through my baseball cards.
The Topps “Opening Day” Series is always my favorite. I always look forward to being able to pick these up through out the season and see what is inside each pack. There are several reasons why they are my favorite.
First, I like them because of the price. Typically, a pack is sold for 99 cents, unless you get a larger pack with more than 7 cards in it. But, the basic pack is 99 cents. Not bad for some cardboard. So much better than twice that price for other sets.
Second, I really like the design. The design for the Opening Day series is similar to the base set with an “Opening Day” stamp near the bottom. It is a smaller set, so there are usually more stars as well.
The third reason that Opening Day is my favorite set is because of the add-in cards in each pack. I always enjoy the “Superstar Celebration”, the mascots, “Play Hard”, and 3-D Opening Day Stars cards. These add-in bring variety into every pack and collection.
I spent sometime today browsing through my collection. I always enjoy thumbing through the “Opening Day” series and I can’t wait until next year.
