Over the last couple of weeks, you have been entertained by stuff I wrote prior to arriving in Iraq–I did that to 1. Keep the website alive and 2. To mask my movement–OPSEC stuff.Â
But, here I am. In Iraq. Without comic books.
Not really–there have been some wonderful people to offer to send me some, which is way cool. Actually, it gives me a chance to broaden my horizon of what is out there. People send me stuff that is mixed and matched which is great for me.Â
I subscribe to the new stuff, and it is sent home to Germany.Â
This means I can read them when I get home–in 13-15 months (13.28 Months or 404 days to be exact). So, when I get stuff sent to me, it is nice to see the other stuff out there once and awhile–to broaden my understanding of the comics world.
So, last night, I opened an issue of Daredevil–Number 84. It is right in the middle of a story, but it was good enough that later on during the night, I decided that I really wanted the entire story. mycomicshop.com helped me get that pretty cheaply. This is why I enjoy reading these other stories so much. I probably would have never read that deep into the Daredevil story, but now I really am interested in how he got put in jail and how he gets out of jail.Â
So, I looking forward to an exciting year of reading, when I get the chance, and I will keep you posted about what I do read.
If you want to read more about my life here in Iraq go over to chaplainandrews.com where I will be posting more frequently.
