I love to play video games. I would love to play video games at a expect level, but I just do not have that in me.
It is amazing to me when I play very good players, how good they really are! I love to watch video games on TV–unless the language is too offensive. It would be a dream of mine to be able to be a nerd in that arena. The truth is, however, that I never will. Too be honest, the truth is that I never will be any good and I think that will be OK.
What gets in the way of being a great video game player is my choice. I choose to not play every day for hours. I choose to do other things with my time. That is what it all comes down to—choice. There are so many different interests to get into but one cannot do them all. We each must choose.
However, when you choose what you want to do, you must practice. The skill for video games or writing or playing and instrument or drawing art does not come one the first try. It probably does not begin to show until after your 200th. It takes work to become good—whatever it is. It takes hard work and focused pursuit to be skilled.
So, I choose to not be that good on video games and I can accept that. I may pick up a game once and awhile, but the truth is—I won’t be any good.
