As I am still recovering from my most recent deployment to Iraq–it seemed like I got on my feet faster last time–I am still playing catch up on my back issues.
Right now, I am reading one of my favorite titles, “Teen Titans”. The latest issues are still to be read–maybe as soon as this week, I am enjoying reading what I am reading right now. The writers seem to keep enough drama going on with these teenagers to make the stories not only interesting but believable. I am reading in the 60’s and Robin is slowly loosing control of his team–in issue number 62–he has lost all but four of his team members.
I think this is one of the unique story lines in Teen Titans, they can have all of the drama and sometimes act like kids–because they are.  The writers can write in a story line where they all quit–because teenagers would do something like that. Now, do I want Dawson’s Creek? No, but it is fun to see once and awhile to stir things up.
This book takes a small moment to mention the most underused character in the DCU–Marvin and Wendy. The writers really missed their chance with these two. I had so much more expectation of them–and I agree that they had become simply janitors at the Teens Tower. What a waste! They could have become the Martian Manhunter or the Oracle of the Teen Titans, but they never developed the story enough to use them. I also wonder how they will be able to bring them back. They are not the most essential characters but they are good to keep around.
As I catch up with the Teen Titans storyline–it is good to see the cross over with the other elements and story lines within the DCU. It is interesting to read how the Teen Titans interact with the larger picture.
