As I prepare to go to Korea, I can see myself finding more and more time to listen to my iPhone more and more mainly because I will have more alone time or idle time available. This does not mean that will not anything to do in South Korea, but when I would typically get in a car and drive home, spend time with the kids, and talk to Monica, that time will be vacant from my calendar. So I must fill it with something. In addition, there are trips to other locations in South Korea that I may visit for official or personal reasons. Since I will not have a car, I will be taking the bus which will give me plenty of listening time as I travel. Sometimes, I can use idol time to update my social media statuses, but I will be in a reverse time zone so I will lose much of the instant reaction that I am used to.
So what do I plan to listen to? I plan to listen primarily to Audible.com. I learned by going to and from work in El Paso, how many books I can consume through listening. I also plan to sprinkle in some podcasts of people that I enjoy listening to. Some of these podcasts are to gain updated information on areas of social media, but some podcasts are for purely entertainment. Occasionally, I will listen to music. This may increase as I go through the next year, but at first it will be only on occasion. Being away from home, I expect will once again change my life in new ways. One these ways is by the things I choose to listen to.
