While here, on leave, I have been making a great effort to run two miles every week day on the treadmill.
Now, I do not like the treadmill. But, we have one because Monica uses it and I will when I must–I prefer running outside. But this week, I must.
One of my biggest problem with the treadmill is the boredom. I have never found a good mix of music on the iPod to listen to–and the fact that I must use an iPod is hard for me.
So today, I tried listening to an audio presentation from Ted.com about Spaghetti Sauce. I think it worked–it got me through the workout. The presentation was only 17 minutes and I run for 20 minutes.
It is a psychological battle to get through those 20 minutes on the treadmill--so there needs to be some sort of distraction. I have to see if it works tomorrow.
How do you get through your workouts? Do you listen to something in particular? Do you just stare at the wall?

Not that I’m totally impressed, but this is a lot more than I expected for when I stumpled upon a link on SU telling that the info is awesome. Thanks.
