On my “Random Thoughts” post, yesterday, I mentioned Hymns of Hope.
Hymns of Hope is a DVD produced by the The Worship Network–the premiere source for the advancement of Biblical Worship within a Contemporary setting. The network describes itself this way:
The Worship Network is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help people worship God. For over a decade The Worship Network has been combining award imagery with music and scripture to create a unique visual worship experience.
The Worship Network is one of those ministries that through a recession, we should not allow to become financially burdened.
I have written about The Worship Network before in previous posts. I have used their DVDs in pre-Worship settings, family times, and personal devotion. I’m also thinking of some more ways to use these resources in my ministry to Soldiers.
Yesterday morning, I watched the Hymns of Hope DVD with the kids. In the worship leading style that The Worship Network models on their broadcast, this DVD includes performances of Christian Hymns beautifully performed and separated by Biblical reminders of God’s presence and Hope.
The arrangements of the hymns are developed by NoW (the nature of worship) leaders, Bruce Carroll, Greg Allen, Scott Dryer, and Tim Foot. Before a live audience the hymns have a modern feel, yet retaining the reverence that is desperately needed in today’s world.
One of the habits that I have developed down range has been enjoying worship music in the early morning as I prepare for the day. I will sit in the office, doing some writing, preparing to read, or just sitting–listening to material from The Worship Network. The Hymns of Hope DVD includes a CD, which I am looking forward to taking back with me to add the my iPod play list.
I highly recommend any of the Worship Network material, but the Hymns of Hope DVD set is a wonderful addition to my collection of worship resources.
