If you have driven through Platte City, MO on I-29, there is no doubt that you have seen the Hillcrest Thrift Shop on the hill, just passed the Highway 92, Platte City, Exit. For me, this has been a great place to pop-in and see if there is anything new.
I enjoy seeing older things. And I like to see things repurposed for good use. And sometimes, I will find something to add to a collection or to use for a project. These are the reasons that I love to visit Thrift Stores. Most of the time, however, I just go inside to see if anything changed since the last time I visited.
For the Hillcrest Thrift Store, there are new things added to their inventory regularly. They have a large selection of clothing, that I typically do not pay much attention to, and a large selection of furniture. Hillcrest Thrift store probably has the biggest selection of furniture that I have seen. It is older furniture, of course, but there are many different tables, chairs, and book cases to pick up if one is in need of these things. The store has a large book wall and a selection of little trinkets for different projects.
I enjoyed my visit to Hillcrest Thrift Store because of the new selections. I have not visited in about nine months, so it was good to see that much of the inventory was new. It was one of those times that I wish I was staying longer so I could pick up some things for a couple of projects that I have in mind. If you are interested in thrift shop shopping in the north western Kansas City area, do not drive by this store.
