Most mornings, I try to achieve my idea day. I think I hit it more often than I don’t but the “ideal day” is always a struggle.
My ideal day begins at 0400; with changing into my PT uniform to be ready to run out the door for PT. I then grab a cup of coffee and an English Muffin for breakfast. I like to read my Bible and have some time to talk to Monica for about and hour and a half before I get ready to go out to PT at 0600.
I’ve mentioned before that I run on Monday, Friday, and Saturday. And I do weights on Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday is the day if my Morning Devotion on the academy campus at 0800, so I don’t have time to do PT.
After PT and shower, I like to sit down with Monica for some scrambled eggs before I walk out the door at 0745–getting me to work at 0800.
At work, I like to walk around campus and see the instructors and the students alike. Occasionally, I will stop by for a cup of coffee, more for the chance to talk to people than to be caffeinated. Then after walking around saying hello, I head to my office.
I like to begin my work with a couple of pages of journaling, then I read through the email of the day-taking care of the fastest emails to answer or delete.
The rest of the morning and afternoon is spent working through my Todoist task list, meetings, and the occasional walking stretch break which gives me another chance to be visible and available.
My day typically ends in time for me to be home for supper with the family at 1730 (5:30pm), followed by a night of reading and I try to find time to play 30 minutes of Call of Duty.
At around 2000-2100; it is time to make it to bed. It’s been a busy but productive day; ready to go to bed for another crack at it tomorrow!
