During the last year in Iraq, one of the Battalion’s many missions included Route Clearance Patrols and Personnel Movement Convoys around the battlefield. I had the honor of praying for many of these convoys before they rolled out. I usually would read a passage from the Book of Psalms followed by a prayer similar to these below.
I thought you’d like to read it.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 62:1-2
1 For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. (Ps 62:1-2, ESV)
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father;
Thank you for all of the Soldiers who are going out today.
We ask that you place your hand on us and bless us and bless our mission.
Keep us safe from harm.
Open our eyes to the dangers that are out there.
Be with our families.
We give you all of the Honor and the Glory Forever:
A-Men
