During the fall of last year, the weather began to turn cold and I began to search for ways to adjust to life in a colder climate. I turned to my writing and coffee as an escape from the weather and long hours in my room, since travel outdoors was getting more and more restricted. So, as I look back at my story journal, I see that there were several days where getting out to write was the favorite event of the day.
These are some of the stories I found in my story journal:
Ventured Out on a Weeknight
30NOV16
Usually, I save my journey’s outside the gate for the weekend. Tonight, I went shopping for small Christmas gifts for the office party tomorrow. I enjoyed walking and being in the city. I enjoyed eating out and blogging in the pizza place. It was a night to remember.
I Spent Some Time Writing

I walked through the little village outside post today. The coffee shop that I wanted to go to was full, so I kept walking. I finally went to a larger coffee shop that was actually really empty. I sat down and began to write. I worked on different projects for about two hours before walking home again.
Three hours in a Coffee Shop

The weather was warm today, so I went out and took the bus to the mall, walked underneath the subway, and found the brand-new Holly’s Coffee had opened. I ordered a “Truffle Delight” coffee and found a table in the study room. I wrote several pages in my journal and a page in my diary.
