At the end of a long day of walking and shopping in Uijeongbu, I stopped into get a wonderful snack at Bake Pang on the way home. The day had been rainy and the temperature fluctuated between hot and steamy and cold and windy. The later the day became the hungrier I became. I had the added temptation of passing a couple of folks with cream cheese waffles as I was walking up the sidewalk, so when I saw the bakery, I had to stop in.
On one side of the little bakery was a display of cakes, which I saw later that they were fairly affordable. Even with the window fogging from the momentary steamy weather, the cakes and macaroons still looked amazing and I made a note that if I ever needed a cake this may be the place to visit.
On the other side of the shop there was a walk-up window where the waffles are sold.
The waffles are displayed out front and kept warm until the toppings are placed on the waffle. As someone who has reserved waffles for breakfast was delighted to try a waffle topped with whipped cream cheese, or frosting, or dipped in chocolate.
I chose a simple chocolate waffle that was already topped in the store. The chocolate tasted much like the chocolate on donuts and the waffle was a great hardy snack for the rainy afternoon.
So, the gamble of jumping into an unknown bakery definitely paid off. The chocolate covered waffle was the perfect treat for the day.
