I wear a mask because I want to do my part to save lives. COVID-19 is still taking hundreds of lives a day. Yesterday’s toll was 682 lives lost to COVID-19. I have deployed twice and have been separated from my family for a third year, the easiest way I can save American lives, now, is to wear a mask and to limit my movement. Honestly, I don’t want to grow old and live with the guilt knowing that I didn’t do everything I possibly could do to save lives. The most dangerous part of a deployment is near the end, when people begin to get complacent. The same is true right now.
