One of the key aspects of my job as a Chaplain is to bring the Invocation at many events. I gave about 70 invocations last year in my current position and I am on a similar path this year. I change my uniform a lot but it is worth it to have a chance to take part in these events. One of these events occurs tomorrow.
Every quarter, the NCO Leadership Center of Excellence honors those who are retiring, receiving awards, and a local veteran from the nearby veteran’s home. We have December’s Distinguished Service Recognition tomorrow morning. This is prayer that I will be giving at the beginning of the program. It is always an honor to be able to take part in these Recognition Ceremonies.
Most Holy God—
We begin our day by honoring these that have served our nation with distinction.
Whether it is at their retirement, for meritorious service, or lifelong service we honor them today.
We ask that you would bless each of these honorees with the knowledge that we as a nation are proud of all of their accomplishments.
We also ask that you would bless these proceedings to bring dignity and honor to our cause.
Amen.
