On the last day of 2012, we sought to end the year well.
We started the day with a trip to Duncan Donuts for Donuts and Coffee. When I made it back home, Monica’s parents had arrived and were enjoying the time with their grandchildren. My kids love their Nanny and Papa and it is always a blessing to have them come and visit. They were able to stay for lunch before they had to say goodbye one last time and travel back home.
Later in the afternoon, we took the kids to the local state park for a walk. At the Sesquicentennial State Park, they have recently built a beautiful new walking trail around the lake. The trail is about 2 miles made with packed soft gravel. It is a wonderful short trail to take the family around. We had a wonderful time stretching out before tomorrows cleaning and Wednesday’s loading—followed by four days in the car. I hope to have one more trip out there before we leave.
To truly end the year well, we all gathered around our TV to watch a special New Year’s edition of the “Good Night Show” on PBS Sprout–our favorite show as a family.
