I had the flu today.
I still went to work. I still did what I always do. I even started the day with a five mile road march.
I had the flu, because it was given to me yesterday by the US Army medic who shot it up my nose.
Now, ok–flu shots prevent the nasty flu from hitting you during flu season and it is important that all Soldiers receive a flu shot every year–but, dud–why does it have to make you feel so bad for a day or so?
I am thankful that they didn’t give it to me before the weekend–that would not be funny. But, they still gave it to me and now, I have the blahs.
The crazy thing is that the best cure for the flu shot blues–is to drink water and do more PT. I’m sure rest is in there somewhere–but why risk it?
I’ll see you on the track tomorrow!
