I started this week off with a good Sunday morning run. I wanted to stretch out a little before I faced the week ahead. The run was especially enjoyable in new shoes!
After a day at the office, Monday, I finished the day off with a glass of milk and a Quaker chewy bar. It was a nice treat after fourteen hours focused on operations. For 100 calories, these chewy bars are becoming a nighttime favorite!
Tuesday morning, I got out for another run—thirty minutes before the normal PT takes place. Unfortunately, this was the last run of the week due to unusually long nights and early mornings. I always have trouble taking selfies while I am running. When I stop, my heart is pounding and the iPhone can never get still enough to take a steady photo.
When I finally made it to bed Wednesday night, I sat under my blanket and wrote out my entry in my “”1 Day, 1 Story” book. I always enjoy taking about two minutes to write a quick story about my day. Well into the discipline of writing in this book, I am looking forward to having a collection of all the little stories of my life during this year.
Friday, the Division Chaplain’s Office took the afternoon for some mid-exercise team building. We all went to downtown Uijoengbu for “Budae-jjigae” or “G.I. Soup” or sometimes “Army Stew”. It is a favorite of ours and we get to visit the best Budae-jjigae in the world. After all, they invented it!
