I look at the last month and it seems like a whirlwind. Since I returned home from leave, it has been nonstop with normal business, on top of a major exercise, and dealing with the inevitable back log that happens following a two week leave period. I began to feel myself get back on track when I finally was able to clean my apartment that had become cluttered with the constant running in and out and the grab and go pace. It was nice to have tie to catch up on some chores on Sunday.
Tuesday (Korea Time) was Opening Day! I was able to watch the Cincinnati Reds game on MLB.TV that night, which was a good time to just settle down for a couple of hours.
Wednesday, it rained. My orders were recently changed from SC to Fort Bliss, TX, so I was quickly reminded that soon, I won’t see rain very much at all!
Thursday, I needed to check my mail. With the mail room being a half a mile away, I have to plan the time wisely. I took the chance to visit the nearby DFAC, where on Thursday was “Soul Food Day”. The fried catfish was awesome! It was extra good because I was able to get the first fillets out of a freshly cooked batch.
I ended the week with a later than normal work night, which will allow me some free time this weekend. As I walked in, I noticed my growing cherry tomato and cucumber plants as they are taking over my window sill!
The weather is getting warmer and we are ramping up for the summer schedule, but it is good to be active as we count the days to returning home.
