Early this morning, I strapped a 50 pound ruck sack on my back and went for a walk.
The walk was with other staff members for about 4 miles or so. There were two steep hills divided by a valley in between. I was in the back the entire time.
As we went up the second hill, the hill became comfortable and I began to catch my breath. With the weight bearing down on my shoulders, I began to be very encouraged. I began to hear in my head and old song from Camp Ridgecrest ringing in my ears.
Further Along, we’ll know more about it.
Further Along , we’ll understand why.
Cheer up my brother,
Live in the sun light.
We’ll understand it, oh by and by.
My spirits were lifted and I began to catch up with the group and I finished strong.
