One of the issues that I have with being in Iraq is the gravel.
Gravel? You say? Yes, gravel.Â
Everywhere you look is gravel. If there is not gravel on a spot of dirt there is a truck bringing more gravel.Â
Ok, I know that it is good to have gravel–it cuts down of the dust in the summer and the mud in the winter.
But, how often do you ever have to walk on gravel? I have to walk on it every where I go.
In gravel–you roll your feet, you have to work harder at walking, and you wear out the soles of your boots.
But, what if the gravel fairy–and he is a very BIG fairy somehow took all the gravel away?
There would be more dust in my lungs containing whatever Sadam had in this country. My boots would be constantly filled with moon dust. I would have to walk through the moon dust, as if it were snow. This moon dust would be up to my knees. And then in the winter–it would all turn to mud–slippery and thick mud.
Have you ever look at the gunk at the bottom of your cup of hot chocolate–that is moon dust in water–same thing.
So, while I may complain about gravel–it is better than the alternative.
