Even as our children get older, there are still many times that I will reach over and hold their hands: as we cross a busy street, as we walk down narrow stairs, or as we walk through a crowd. These are the times when I want to make sure the children, especially the smaller two, are as safe as I can make them. These are the times that I am there to help them and to guide them.
There are many times in all of our lives where we can use a little help. During these times God will hold our hands. The Bible says in Isaiah 41; “For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” (Isaiah 41:13 ESV) Much like I am there to help my children navigate through a large crowd, God is there to help us through the tough times in life. He is there to help us cross safely to the other side when we are trying to cross through our struggles. He is there to hold us close and to assure us that while the world may be crushing in around us he is there.
When you struggle with hard times, you can remember the hand of God on yours and his voice that whispers; “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Turn to him and rest in him because he is there.
