During the Worship Service I lead, we don’t have a pianist to play our hymns. We like to have somebody, but we don’t have anybody who plays hymns.
So, what do we do?
We use an old school piece of equipment called a Hymn Player. The one I use was developed by Broadman, a sub-label of Lifeway Christian Resources. There are others out there and Broadman doesn’t make one anymore, but it is a great little tool to have around.
It works much like a mp3 player–it has thousands of hymns stored out it and to play the one you want, you just hit the code and push the “start” button.
Many people don’t use these, I’m sure because they probably use computers and mp3 players–but they don’t have the number of hymns that the “Hymn player” has, nor do they have the ability to access the hymn you want quickly, in addition they still have to plug them into speakers to be heard.
I have grown quite pleased of my Hymn Player. It is a great way to bring music to the service.

We just found an old Broadman Premier Hymn Player at an antique store, but it has no 6v adapter, nor speakers. Hoping we can find those that work. It works on the batteries, and with my ear phones. For those with a big budget there is a new digital version for about $2500.00 you can find online where to purchase – but out of my budget.

Hi Mark,
I serve as chaplain at a nursing home and inherited a broken hymn player. I have zero musical ability, which makes it difficult to lead worship services here, and I’m interested in the player you’re sellling. I’m on a budget, but would like to make an offer if you are willing. Thank you kindly,
Faith

We too have the Broadman Player. It was stuck back in a closet for years, We would like to use it, but their is no instruction book. I figured it out (I think), but the songs selected do not match the Broadman Hymnals in use (1940) Is their a newer hymnal that matches the Hymn Player. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
