I’ve never read much of the Flash. I really never understood his apeal.
So, when I recently received a box that included several Flash comic books, I was excited to dive a little more into his story.
One of the arcs that was given to me was a story of Barry Allen’s return and Wally West taking a back seat. It is an interesting story to read. So each night, I have been able to work my way through the story. I’ve only been reading this story for several days now, and I am intrigued by the humanity that is brought out in the story. These issues of jealousy and insecurity are a great asset to the storyline. I was impressed that this book went into that deep of subjects. I had imagined, from the TV show example, that the Flash was always a jokester–and I didn’t think that the story would be much but I have realy enjoyed this great comic book arc.

The flash is an interesting character as the role has been played by more than a few persons in the DC universe. Like the Green Lantern everyone connects with one of them and that becomes their favorite. The problem is when the story loses focus on that person some fans migrate away until they return. That has always been a problem for me with those two books.

TV has to bow down to the need of being more facile, given its wider audience. I am a great fan of Wally West. In the later seasons of the JLA TV series, they replaced Plasticman as the clown opf the JLA and gave Flash a more serious face.
Try and get you hands on one of the Flash+Green Lantern books. Good stuff!
