I watch American Idol–every week.
One thing I notice is the thousands that try out for a chance at stardom. I would say that many of these would be classified as “good” singers. But nothing really special.
It is obvious that the auditions only show the best of the best and the worst of the worst–but there are thousands in between that just don’t make it through.
To be honest–I would be one of those thousands. I have a good voice…I can carry a tune. Because I am in front of people, I could probably be fine in an audition–but I wouldn’t expect to go to Hollywood–and if I did, because of sheer practice and determination–I wouldn’t make it through Hollywood week.
So it is interesting to see these people rise from the thousands and make it to the finals.
It takes something incredible to go that far in that kind of competition. It takes talent and charisma and personality. It is that star quality that makes a person stand out.
There is nothing wrong with being one of the thousands that aren’t on American Idol–that is what makes it fun–because there are some out there that make you believe that you con be more.
