We are spending the night in Midland, Texas. Waking up in Dallas and driving all day to Midland, Texas—it was nice to be able to stop. I enjoyed seeing the “Home of George W. and Laura Bush” sign as we entered the city.
While driving through the state of Texas, we’ve been able to see all of the different landscapes that Texas has to offer. We entered the state from Louisiana where we saw more rolling hills and vegetation to the flat lands on the west side of Dallas. I was beautiful to be able to drive long the Interstate and take it all in. It is amazing to be able to look out and see the sky reach for miles before the horizon blends into it.
Being the fourth night of our trip, we are all getting tired of being in the car. I once considered going all of the way to El Paso—another 4 1/2 hours of driving—just to get it done. That would also mean another 6 hour hours when breaks are considered. But, the right thing to was to go ahead and stop. I don’t I could’ve handled another 6 hours or be able to get the kids in bed at the end.
We had a nice dinner to close the night and the kids are now able to watch a little Disney together.
Tomorrow, we complete our trip in El Paso, Texas—hopefully we will have a house as well by the end of the day.
