We travelled from Jackson, Mississippi to Dallas, Texas. We crossed the Mississippi River with little fanfare—and much less fear than I expected. The most stressful was going through Dallas—but it’s done.
Crossing the Mississippi River was exciting to share with the older girls. They are getting old enough to be familiar with some of these places—so I was good to have them look up and see our crossing. While the bridge was narrow, it was not as long or high as I had expected. I had fear a Cooper River Bridge monster of a bridge. But, no it was pretty tame.
We stopped for lunch in Marshal, TX and ate at Whataburger. I haven’t been to a Whataburger in about twenty years, so it was fun to bring the family in. This was the first meal in Texas. Whataburger is a small regional hamburger place. I like the hamburgers. Simple, but good.
We ate Chinese for supper—so, I ate way too much today, but there is always tomorrow.
Tomorrow, we head to Midland, Texas.
