I’ve been sick over the last week or so and spent several hours watching Star Trek: Enterprise. I was interesting for me to see how science fiction is becoming reality. Start Trek was first aired in the 1960s and Star Trek: Enterprise aired in the early 2000s. The first generation of iPhones were released in June of 2007. Six years later mobile phones have gone a long way beyond the simple communicators of Star Trek.
I remember, not too long ago, phones were connected to a wall–or if you were truly innovative, you had a cordless phone. But, these phones did one thing. You talked on them. Now, we walk around with more computer power than my first desk top. It is amazing to consider what the future will bring for our communication devices in as little time as six years the world can be turned upside-down.
