Several years ago when I began taking Baseball Cards more seriously, I began to wonder about the base cards. These are the cards that are most often visible at Target or Wal-Mart or other stores that sell Sports Cards. They are also the flag ship of the entire industry of cards. To me, they are the most desired of all the cards because of the fact that this is the base and everything else is extra.
But, I don’t buy these packs.
What I buy, because I do want all of them, is the 660 card full set boxes. These boxes include both series one and two. I like to have the complete set in one package. So, for the last couple of years, this is what I buy.
I do enjoy the task and challenge of putting a set together. This is why I enjoy buying the Opening Day Series and can not wait for these to be sold. Opening Day is a smaller set–which is more achievable, and the packs are cheaper–which is more affordable.
I always buy Topps, when I buy new–they are the official MLB sports cards, and in my opinion, rightly so.
