I saw that today, September 6, 2019, is “National Read A Book Day”. I hope to read one of my books later this evening, but I wanted to first show you what I am reading, as crazy as it sometimes it is.
Currently, I have about eight books that I am working through. I will admit that this is more than normal, but it is not uncommon for me to have multiple books open at the same time.
Reading different books at a time is somewhat of a difference of the medium that I am using to work through them. For instance, “Available Light” is my current Audible.com book that I am listening to on my way to work. “The Worst Hard Time” is a book that I have on my Kindle that I need to finish, so I am going to be carrying that around with me more and more.
Another difference is the type of book. “Takedown” is my light reading book and “Presidents of War” is deep history and it is a beast of a book, but it is wonderful! I’ve included my devotional Bible because I should finish it before Christmas, reading the Bible through again this year. Then there is “The Road to Character” and “In the Hurricane’s Eye”. These are books that I simply pick up from time to time—but I became distracted by the other books that came my way.
Reading multiple books at a time takes a little longer than just one at a time, but I am often in the mood for different types of books. Each one of these books have captured my interest, so soon I will get through and move on to another set. But, for the time being, this is the set that I am working through.
