This week was spent either behind my desk or in meetings. I didn’t get out much and that is ok. However, the photos don’t turn out to be that interesting if you don’t get out. I was able to show a glimpse of my life, though, even if was the ordinary part of life.
Monday’s prompt was “Scraps”. I used the phot as an opportunity to unwrap my comic book order that I picked up that day. Pulling the plastic film off of the comic book bags is a routine task that I have to do every time I order comics. The bags protect the books; they are good to have—but the plastic film piles up as scraps.
Tuesday, I walked in late without having a chance to find the answer to my prompt: “Three Forms”. I opened my cabinet to find three different forms of Ramen noodles. I don’t eat Ramen every day—in fact, I think the Bowl Noodle Soup has been in the cabinet since my first trip to the commissary. However, the other Korean brands I enjoy having them for the occasional lunch.
Wednesday’s prompt, “Arranged”, led me to look for something that was arranged in a certain way. I came home from lunch and put my lunch together when I laughed at how “nice” in looked to be a bowl of Beanie-Weanies and Ritz crackers. I found the tray in a store and bought it for another reason, but began placing my hot food on it as I ate. Since most of my meals are eaten in the recliner, the tray comes in handy when the food is hot.
Thursday reminded me of the “Left Behind” playground equipment in front of my office. My office was once the Child Development Center for the post when the Army allowed families. I frequently walk by them wishing my children were able to play on this playground.
Friday: I spent some time in my hymnal for my prayer time. After singing through a couple of songs, I ran into this song written by George Beverly Shay, titled “The Wonder of It All”. The words of the chorus are:
“O the wonder of it all,
The wonder if it all– Just to think that God loves me!
The wonder of it all,
The wonder if it all– Just to think that God loves me!”
After learning it, the song brought a wonderful reminder throughout the day of God’s love for me.
