After waiting for several months, I’ve recently been able to get my Police Scanner working and ready to listen on the El Paso frequencies.
When we first arrived in El Paso, I plugged the radio in and loaded the frequencies, but heard nothing but static. I later found out that they were replacing the radio system and it would be ready in late spring 2013.
I was happy, one day, when I click on one of the El Paso links from Radio Reference and began to hear traffic over the air-waves. I knew that, if there was something to hear on Radio Reference—then I could download their frequencies and begin listening on my own. This actually motivated me to pull out my amateur radio equipment and get that hooked up as well.
This a challenge and opportunity every time we move—to have to build a new data base and set up my radio for a new town every two or three years. I’m happy to say that this was one of the fastest times I have set my radio up and get operational. I can’t wait to start hearing the radio traffic from within El Paso Texas.
