Nearly every morning I sit and I listen to the train passed by.
The train is roughly a quarter of a mile away, but it takes about a mile half of walking until we see the train crossing. Every morning, I hear as the train blows its whistle as it passes through the crossing.
Where is it going?
It is a mystery to me. Is it a freight train? Is it Amtrak? I’ve never ridden a train. While growing up, I would hear people talking about how they have never flown in an airplane and how they hope to do that one day. For me, my wish is to ride the train. And I want it to be a long ride too.
I’ve grown up listening to train songs. I even owned a train simulator computer game–where I would simulate driving a train. I have an electric train, that I put utmost Christmas.
I can simply imagine. Walking to my seat, looking out the window as the train pulls away from the station. I can imagine looking out as we pass town after town, house after house. I see myself walking to the dining car and sitting at the table while I am served dinner. Oh! I want to buy a ticket today to anywhere! Just to ride a train. Keep your airplanes; I’ll just take the train.
