As the typical stereotype about Baumholder goes, it rained all day today.
The skies were dark all day and the trees, covered with yellow leaves, seemed to glow in the daylight. The rain is somewhat quieting, yet depressing. We do see the rain much out here—guess it gets kind of gloomy.
A year ago, I looked forward to the smoothing of a rainy day—the three we had. I even enjoyed the dust storms that blocked out the scorching sun for a little while.
Now, I see the rain and complain. Interesting isn’t it.
Perspective is everything.
In Germany, I would love a sunny day. In Iraq, I would love a rainy day.
Maybe a take away is that too much of a good thing isn’t a good thing.
Maybe a take away is that no matter what you complain about you can’t change it. Nor, would you like it if you could.
Maybe a take away is that when you have sunshine go out and enjoy it—when you have a rainy day stay in and open the window and read a book.
I think what is important is that God places me where it is rainy, or sunny, or windy, or dry, or snowy, or hot—so I can make the most of each opportunity.
