The Eye of the Storm Hurricane software was discontinued while I was in Iraq, I discovered today—with much disappointment. I typically track hurricane during the summer, but some of my other tools are flhurricane.com (best hurricane site during a projected landfall), IBISEYE (new to me, but looks good), iMapWeather.com and the National Hurricane Center.

The Change of Command for our Battalion and Brigade was this week, it is hard saying good-bye to friends—but exciting making new ones.

This week marked the return of my Tuff Boxes full of gear and personal stuff from Iraq. I am amazed how I get dependent on that stuff, when it is all covered with dirt. But, it is conforting to get it all back.
