At night, I place on my nightstand my iPhone and my iPad. Both are connected to the charger to charge through the night to be ready for the day. I am always amazed at how much I use those two tools during the day—tonight my iPad battery was down to 30% from solid use throughout the day and night. What I overlook, however, is the fact that if my tools need charging, I probably need recharging as well.
It is simply for us to keep so busy that we begin to burn the candle at both ends and we begin to cut corners to make the day last longer. But the fact is, we all need recharging. I heard one study that stated that after 4 nights of only 6 hours of sleep, you begin to function as if you had a high alcohol level. Not knowing what that may feel like, the point to me is that too little sleep can impair your thoughts and actions.
The iPhone will just shut down if you let the battery run to long. Our bodies will do the same thing after a while. Many times, we deny that but it will catch up with us one way or another. The iPhone will tell you when the battery gets within 10% before it shuts off on you. We also notice that our bodies do the same thing as they begin to shut down as well. The lesson here is that, like the iPhone and iPad on my night stand, we all need to recharge regularly.
