Supergirl 12 is a great story. This issue even develops her character, but it is out of place!
The is a footnote on the very first page that says; “This takes place after Issue #10–ED”. Well, ED, why didn’t you make this issue #11 instead of #12? Come on now! Did you make a mistake or did you mean to get the story all out of order? Is it that hard to put the events in chronological order?
One response would be that the Terra story, which is featured in #12, was not ready when it was time to go to press. Ok, the delay the books–not the best solution but a solution that DC uses often.Â
The other solution is get it done on time. I might be a little hard on that idea, but think about it. I’m a preacher, if my sermons are not ready for Sunday what do I do? Do I tell the congregation; “I’m sorry, today’s sermon was not ready to preach today, please come back tomorrow”? Or in the Army, “I’m sorry that my report was not ready, can I reschedule?” These writers, artists, and editors have a job to do…is it to much to ask that they do it?
Then, they could simply have gotten the issues out of order. This still seems lame to me.
[…] I’m so confused about this storyline, after getting all out of whack in issue 12. I seem to recall that this boyfriend was alluded to in #10, but I’m too lazy to go dig that one out of my short box and then crack the seal on its bag. But, I ask, why do I have to? Why is it so hard to follow? I will say no more because I’ve already voiced my frustration elsewhere.
