I recently had an opportunity to do PT on my own. I typically conduct PT with the Chaplain’s office staff and we have a great time running and doing other PT events. It is nice, however, to enjoy a moment to go out on my own for a run by myself.
On this particular morning, it was a chilly but exhilarating temperature as I ran out on my own. I went a little extra this day because I chose the pace and the distance, so why not enjoy it. The run was a little different because I typically run with a group and the other people on the path do not pay much attention. However, on this morning, I was greeted warmly by other travelers on this long walkway, which made the run much more enjoyable to see people smile.
Near the end of the run, I stopped for the stoplight to cross the road. While waiting to cross the street, there were only two people waiting on the other side. Before long, a bus pulled into a nearby bus stop and, right on schedule, my light turned green signaling for me to cross the street. The bus waited as it always does. Suddenly, I was met with three or four people running pass me to join those crossing the street from the other side. They were in a bus to catch the bus before it left.
I laughed to myself as I ran past as they were rushing to get on the bus at the wonderful similarity of people around the world, rushing to get on the bus, stalling to stay in bed just a little longer, stalling every last moment of time before going into work. I only hope that they made it on time.
