“Super-storm” Sandy came inland on Monday night causing power outages and damaging home. In some places there was flooding. In other, there was fire.
Now the attention goes toward providing relief.
I have watched disaster after disaster in various parts of the world and time. Soon, the press finds a better story to cover and begins to pay attention elsewhere. I regret that the U.S. National Election is next Tuesday, because all of the cameras will shift focus on that, and away from the hurting people in the Northeast; but it is understandable. However, the people involved will be with this problem for months and years. Now is the time for you to help out. You may not be able to go there and offer assistance, but you can send money for others to care for these people and care for the needs of those who need help.
There are many different organizations to provide assistance. I recommend these organizations.
FEMA recommends, as do I , that you send money to reputable organization to assist in the clean up.
Cash offers voluntary agencies the most flexibility in obtaining the most-needed resources and pumps money into the local economy to help businesses recover.
So, as you consider the problems that have been caused by Sandy—give to the people affected by going to the pages above and send your support.
