This week, all eyes have been on the U.S. super-storm Sandy; Including mine. But, Friday, I was notified through ReliefWeb that there was another storm, Tropical Cyclone Son-Tinh in Vietnam with 7.3million affected by Category 1 wind speeds or higher. Son-Tinh came ashore on Sunday. In India, also alerted to me by ReliefWeb, Tropical Cyclone NILAM is moving ashore this evening.
Many times, I don’t always understand the alerts from international sources—but I understand Tropical Cyclone and Typhoon and Earthquake. And these disaster unfortunately happen all of the time. Each storm put many child in poverty at risk. One way to help these most innocent of victims is by choose a child through Compassion.com and sponsoring them. Not only will you help provide for their basic needs of food and water. Keeping the child healthy during day to day living will help them be more resilient during a natural or man-made disaster.
So, as you give to support victims affected by Sandy, consider going one step further and sponsoring a child through Compassion International.
