September 8, 2019 is the 53rd Anniversary of the first Star Trek episode to air in September 8, 1966. Therefore, today is known as Star Trek Day.
Star Trek keeps me entertained and hopeful about our future. I enjoy the TV shows, the Movies, and the books. It is good to see the producers opening so many different directions forward in the Star Trek Universe. They are an incredible diversion from life in these turbulent times. Star Trek provides for me an optimistic view of the possibilities we can look forward to if we can simply combine our efforts to truly explore our world and off-world. There is so much we might achieve, if we can move past the many disagreements we face. Of course, this is only if we never violate the “Prime Directive”—ok, maybe we can violate it once and awhile.
If you are not a fan of Star Trek, this is a great time to engage. With four new projects on the way, one including an entire series focused on Jean Luc Picard, I am incredibly excited about the future of the franchise. There is a wealth of opportunities to dig into the universe, so I encourage you to go where you have never gone before and dream what the world of Star Trek has to offer.
Happy Star Trek Day!!
