This morning, we open our gifts from under the tree. My wife wrapped this gift for me.
Christopher Reeve was THE greatest to ever play Superman. To see Reeves was to see Superman even after he was paralyzed and ill. I am looking forward to reliving these movies and introducing them to my wife.
So much of my first impression were from Reeves, from his flight to rescue Lois from the Helicopter Crash to him standing before the United Nations pleading for a stop to nuclear war. I haven’t seen the new movie, and I guess one day I will. I was in Iraq when it came out. For me, however, maybe it is my age, Christopher Reeve was unmatchable as Superman.
I appreciate my wife for thinking of me in buying this set. I didn’t ask for it, she just saw it and thought that I would like it. It was a good Christmas for us.

I wasn’t too sure about the new movie until I saw it Here’s the thing — even if it’s kind of a reboot of the superman movie mythos, it’s sort of a continuation, really. Where Smallville tells you all about what happened between hours 1 and 2 of Superman: The Movie, this new movie tells you what actually happened after Superman II.
The guy that they got to play Supes does a pretty fantastic job. And it’s totally an homage to Chris Reeve, the way the guy acts. He based his Clark on Reeve’s Clark. His Superman is a wee bit different, but that’s a good thing.
In short: rent it and watch it, you’ll enjoy yourself.

First, thanks for stopping by my site!
Second, I totally agree about Christoper Reeve was Superman. I am a huge Superman fan and need to get around to watching the new one. They say it picks up where II left off (ignoring III and IV), so I need to go back and watch II to refresh myself before diving in.
