One of my favorite blogs and something I read daily is called The Art of Manliness.
Manliness is becoming a dying art. I began to get more interest in what it meant to be a well groomed man when my Mother ordered some Presidential Soap for me for Christmas one year from Caswell Massey. I had never thought that a man could smell like anything other than “Irish Spring” and be a man. The gift soap collection opened my eyes to the fact that I could smell like Presidents and true gentlemen without feeling effeminate. In our feminist infected society, men have become weak and ineffective. It is time men were taught to be men and gentlemen.
Monica and I were having a discussion last night during dinner about the roles of men and women in marriage. These roles have become so ignored that many of our marriage problems are a result of Men refusing to “give their life for their wives” and women refusing to submit. You must have both.
The Art of Manliness takes a look at what it means to be a man—more than that, it looks at what it takes to be a gentleman. With posts like How to Shave Like Your Grandpa, How to Apologize Like a Man, or What I’ve Learned Raising a Daughter there is daily advise on the many facets of being a man.
Honestly, I believe if men were being the men God called us to be, our wives would feel encouraged, strong, and appreciated. I cannot recommend The Art of Manliness enough. I hope that you will plug it into your Google Reader and check it daily.
