I love classical music. Particularly orchestra and I also have a love for chamber music. My favorite composer is Beethoven, which sound kind of cliché but I really love his music. His sixth symphony is my favorite of all. I enjoy listening to Chopin, Schuman, or Bach, but there is something different about the melodies that Beethoven worked into his masterpieces. One of my lifetime goals one day is to spend time listen to every piece that Beethoven has ever done.
Needless to say, I love classical music. However, sometimes life gets in the way and I lay it aside for a little bit. I was awakened once again as I have uncovered more and more classical music on Spotify. Interestingly enough, I stumbled on a free online Cousera class from Yale titled “Introduction to Classical Music.” This course has encouraged me to look deeper into classical music rather than frequently listening to it. Like any other kind of art, inside these pieces are stories and emotions that take on a life of their own. I hope while I am in Korea to see an orchestra concert, if the timing is right.
So, I am thinking deeper about classical music lately. It is fun to spend time with and take time to be quiet and maybe study a piece or two.
