Sometimes when I’m here in Korea, I want to get out and go to a coffee shop or just go shopping, but I don’t. I don’t because I must make a mile-long walk to the train station. It is far from me. Why travel that far just to get coffee.
The Bible says;
The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29,ESV)
There is a mile-long gap between the Wicked and the Lord. They are far away from him.
But He hears the Righteous.
We become righteous when our sin is washed through the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross. When we accept this payment as our payment, we accept that we need this payment and we accept, through faith, this payment to take the place of our own payment. In other words, when we accept Jesus as our Savior, his blood makes us righteous. Then, “He hears the prayers of the righteous.”
Once we were in our sin, we were wicked and far away from the Lord. God loved us so much that he sent his son, Jesus, to die on a cross for our sin. This cross becomes the bridge over the distance between the Wicked and The Lord—but you must cross over by faith.
Have you crossed over?
Have you accepted Christ’s payment for your sin?
I encourage you today to take this step towards the Lord today.
