This quarter, I have worked to maintain three commitments.
I chose these areas because these are the area that I truly wanted to work on, so I committed myself to do these thing every day for the remain of 2018.
Reduce Social Media—I discovered that I was waiting too much time scrolling through photos and posts. Many of the posts I was seeing was not even anything I was deeply interested in, I was just scrolling. So, I committed to cut this time back. Thankfully soon after, Apple created a new update called “screen time” that automatically shut these apps off after a certain amount of time. This pretty much took care of this issue, but I still look at this commitment as the starter toward this journey.
Keep Weight Watchers points—at the end of the summer, I decided that I would work on getting better shape, especially with the advent and fielding of the new Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) that I will be taking in the future. One the areas I wanted to target was my diet and using Weight Watchers points is a great way to do that.
Read 10 pages a day—Finally, I enjoy reading, but this often gets overrun by other activities until I have several books lined up to read. So, I decided to set an achievable objective to simply read ten pages. Some times it feel more achievable than others.
So, these are my three commitments for this quarter. I am doing pretty well with them, and I look forward to seeing how they help me to grow.
