I remember waking up to the radio being played on the in-house intercom system made by NuTone in the 1970s. The radio station was WESC from Greenville/Spartanburg South Carolina. WESC played a good blend of country music from the early years to the then present. I remember hearing Roger Miller being play along with Alabama, who was popular at the time. This is a part of my childhood that has been ingrained into me. It is a big reason why I love Country music to this day.
Now, it seems like I’m hearing music from home, even here in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Last year, we bought an Amazon Echo that plays music from iHeart Radio. All you must do is tell the Echo to play WESC and “Alexa” will go straight to the station to play. WESC was one of the first stations I played on the Echo and is definitely the most played station I play.
Not only is WESC nostalgic to listen to, they still play the best country music there is. Now, they mix Alabama with newer tunes, but staying within the quality that good country music is known for. What you will not hear is the “rocky” crossover music that many other stations have stooped to play. What I hear of WESC is good traditional country music, and for that I am very thankful!
If you have iHeart radio on you Amazon Echo or another app on your phone or other device, go to WESC 92.5 and listen to wonderful mix of country music they provide.
