Make no mistake about it, I love my Ragdoll Kitty, Cupcake. She is a delightful companion to the entire family. She is always close by and available for photos, whether she likes it or not. Funny thing has happened, however, by posting and “liking” too many cat photos on Instagram.
ON my Instagram account, I post every day. I try to take pictures to represent what is happening that day and the big events within that 24 hour period. I don’t (typically) do “Latergrams”—I like to post in the moment. When I am home, it is hard not to capture the moment without some photo of Cupcake in some of them. And now that I am in Korea, I occasionally will look at a couple of Ragdoll accounts and “like” some of the great photos there.
What has happened, though, is that now my search/explore feed is now full of cats. The algorithms now discovered that I like cats and so I get lots of photos of cats. In fact, just by researching this post, I have probably recharged my cat photos in the explore feed once again. That’s ok, however, I do like cats. But, it will take a couple of weeks of not looking at cats to begin to see more than just cats and trains (I also like train photos!) in my explore feed.
The morale of the story is that if you want to see plenty of cat photos on Instagram…and there are plenty of them—simply click on a few and like the photos and your explore feed will quickly fill right up!
